2.8(30v) lagging?
wow I would charge the TB now. I have read some crazy storys from V6 TB breaking. If you owned the car the whole time and knew it sure chance it and wait till 90,000 or 100,000 miles. You have no idea but thats not your problem here, I drove mine today really hard and found that I get a good shaking as soon as the car is in R. I also get it driving up hills (PA lots of them). I am going to check the tranny mounts, motor mounts, and all the exhast mounts. IF its not them then I may buy spark plug wires instead. I found a great site for 75

Well I paid 1,000 all said and done. But I had all the gaskets fixed too. Both value covers, chain ten, cam seals, crankshaft....and all the TB, serp belt, ten, waterpump, coolant. But I have also done 3 TB myself on others V6's and its not to bad doning the TB but I wouldn't do the gaskets myself. But if you do that hell you will never need to do anything but change oil and watch the CV joints for 80,000 miles
Well I just got back from under my ride and there is purple goo on both mounts. The only thing that is crazy is its old, really old not wett at all? I also found a coolant leak. That is going to be fun to fix but its the rubber tube connecting to the block, just looks like its leaking from the clamp but its always fun getting to that one The tranny mounts look ok but I really don't know what to look for there. This isn't normal to have the car shake when in R or 2,000 to 3,000 rpm range It seems it happens as soon as the V6 has to really laydown the Tq, but if you drive it soft and light you really can't feel it...till you put it in R or D parked on a hill.
so is there any specific way to tell if your tb is going out? i dont wanna just drop a grand on something that might be new already, also should I just try cleaning it with carb cleaner??
