Ive been searching the net constantly for 2.8L performance parts. I noticed that there is way more stuff for the 1.8T basically because its a turbo, then i see alot for the 30v 2.8... but what i dont see is any for the 12v 2.8??? no chips, very few selection of exhaust, what is there for this engine? any websites will help...

 

very little off the shelf parts for that engine unfortunately. but there are a ton of mods for it if you can live without buying bolt-on. it will cost more to work but in the end it can make more power. look into standalone management to get past the chip. also porting and polishing the heads. k&n drop in filter, exhaust, suspension, brakes, etc... you can even go wild and get a custom turbo kit. all the fastest 1.8t's end up removing the entire turbo kit for a new one. its not much different. depending on where your from you are gonna have to make friends with some hardcore tuners that arent afraid of the old school way of working an engine. I think people are too spoiled today personally, if its not a bolt on people dont know what to do.

 

the 12v can be made in to a moster but it takes a **** ton of money and skill, it envolves lots of custom engine work

nope, none that i know of atleat... an interesting swap would be a 4.2 v8 with a supercharger

The only bolt-on superchargers are for the 30V. I think you MIGHT be able to make one work with a 12V, but it will doubtlessly require some modifications, custom fabrication, and a whole lot more know-how than I have.

Up until recently, I thought that a 12V SC just wasn't an option, and that could still be true. I'm sure someone who knows will chime in.

 

Nope you were right. It can be done, And as soon as I find a really tall money tree and another car to drive, I will do it and let you guys know. Otherwise. the 12V, is what it is, and not much can be done to it.
