ok well im am going to change my oil on my 1999.5 A4 2.8 tomorrow. But yea this will be the first time i change it since i have owned the car. well yea i see the filter is easy to get to and take out unlike the 1.8t which i heard was hard. But now where is the oil drain plug because im not trying to end up draining my transmission oil out! So yea is it near the filter. i haven't really looked for it but i would rather just ask now because i will prob end up asking later anyway! Thanks in advance for any help! i bought6 qts of castrol syntec 5-40w it 6 enough i heard it might be like 6.5 qts

 

even though i drive a 1.8, i really doubt that you would confuse any other thing or part for your oil pan and plug.... dont over complicate it man, its damn near the easiest thing to do on a car, you'll see everything once you lift her up and take off the splash guard.

 

its towards the front, not the back so you really cant miss it.

 

Yep, just get under there, find the oil pan and follow it back until you find the plug. It'll be tough to miss.

 

Can't miss it dude its right there.

Go get a wix 51333 filter. They're massive and will serve you well.

 

The wix 51333 filter... That for the 1.8 or 2.8? So far after looking online I only see 1.8...

It can work for both. I like running larger filters for more filtration media, and some like how the wix works on the 1.8t.
