2.8 Quat Tip Weirdness
Hi everybody!
I've had my a4 since '06. I just love this car. Lately, i've noticed something kind of odd. I can feel the transmission engaging and disengaging, and i don't recall feeling that "thump" very often in the past. The easiest example is when i'm coasting down a hill and i feel the car start engine braking, and then there's a thump and then everything's smooth. Also, when i'm in traffic and just lightly feathering the gas. When i let off the gas, i feel that bump again.
I know basically how transmissions work, but i don't know the specifics of this one enough to venture a guess. Probably something simple like transmission fluid, right?
The Stats:
2000 A4, 2.8, Quattro, Tiptronic
85k miles, Just had Drive shaft work, 2 new CVs, CEL came on after i noticed transmission weirdness.
Decent amounts of Hill driving, and alternating between highway and high traffic driving.
I'll have code scanner in the next couple of weeks, if all goes to plan.
Thanks for and help/advice folks can offer!
