Has anyoen with a chip tested out what the top speed is?

 

on my 2000 1.8 i can hit a 14.9 quarter and 0-60 in about 5.8. Up in wisconni i drove it around 140 and it was doin pretty well. Im not too sure about the 2.8 though. Have you done anything else to it?

 

no i havent even chipped it yet. I am decideing what to do first. I have a list of mods i want to do. I am thinking, it will have a intake and exhuast befor eit has a chip.

 

Is a chipped 1.8T faster then a 2.8? Just to make me feel better, the chipped 1.8T has a lot more problem then the 2.8 right?

 

yea a chipped 1.8T is a little faster and yes they are not as reliable but just put a s/c on ur 2.8 and u wont have to worry.

 

i don't usually go over the speed limit and rarely race, but knowing my car is slower just make me feel kind of #$%@#...... I don't understand why that is....

 

i feel that same way. I dont speed alot but knowing that i could take teh hot shot next to me makes me feel better. I used to have a car like that and i loved showing the hot shots in the Carreras with their girlfriends with them taht they are nothing special.

 

You still wont keep up with a carrera... or get as much *** as the carerra driver.

Having a chip, so you can surpass usual limited speeds on public roads... isn't wise.

 

With my 2.8s tran i can do over 150 easy, i run it up to 140 with no problems, just run out of road.
