20"s on 2004 A4
Hi, I wanna put 20s on my A4 but don't know what width i should go with. This would be pretty much a show car, but i want it to be daily also though. I want it to fit flush witht the body and not stick out. My mechanic recommended me to go with 20 X 8.5s in the back and 20 X 8 in the front. Do you'll think this is the best way to go or wud it be better to go with 20 X 8.5 in the front and 20 X 9 in the back, etc. Please help as I'm gonna order these very soon...it's the final touches on my car.......
You just need to mind the clearance when you turn.. but either way.. you can adjust the offset to make it flush with the fenders. good luck driving with 20s for the daily.. I would personally hate that but that is just me..
My dad's B6 on 19's rides better than my B5 on 16's. I bet a B6 with 20's wouldn't be too bad at all. I barely notice the difference in his car between his 17's and 19's... the steering feels a bit heavier -- that's it.
20's on a b6 is not bad at all... its similar to 19's on a b5... it can definately be done... i think it would look tight..
and i would definately get 20x8 in front... thats where your rubbing is going to occur.

first off, make sure you have a good set of adjustable coilovers..
with that said, 20s look good on a B6. but that's about it IMO.
examples:
Wheels - 20x8.5 Privat Netz +36 with 245/30/20 Falken FK452

and

On the white wagon, is it 20 X 8.5 in the rears too? And i was told the widestg tire i could get for my car would be 225. Whats the widest you can safely go with 20s? I see the white one has 245.......
If you're fitting the proper sized tires on a wheel... the outer dimensions of a 20" wheel/tire should be the same as a 17" tire... so you're no more likely to rub with 20's than with 17's, if you run the right sized tire. Go with 235/30/20 for an OEM size.
