if the warrenty covers everything, then i would go for it..... no worries for 3 years, which is about as long as the car is going to last.......
Elaborate please. If you maintain these cars, just like VW's, they should last over 200k according to the sticky here.
Yeah, they can last beyond 200k miles with very good care, but i don't see you driving 73k miles in 3 years unless you drive alot. Basically my point was, if the warrenty covers you for 3 years, then you will more then get your use of the car, then when the warrenty is up, ditch the car........and get a new one.
Gotcha, that was the plan....

I can't stress enough to look at the warranty thoroughly! First of all, if the dealership is selling it to you, then they are making good money on it, so if its 900.00, I doubt you're getting a 450.00 warranty. Plus, you're paying interest on the warranty as well. Check and see if you have a window of time that you are able to cancel it. Check and see if there is a limit of liability (how much the warranty covers for each covered part, and / or how much they will pay out before the warranty voids). Bottom line, those "warranties" are crap and don't really cover jack...it's just worded like they do- If I had it to do all over again, I would have spent the extra dough on a certified audi.

Good info. I looked over everything covered briefly. They will pay $50 an hour for labor, and according to them, all parts are covered. So anything after $50 an hourI have to pick up, which an Audi most certainly will be.

UPDATE:

So frustrated right now. I don't want to spend more than $8500 on a car. Ive wanted a A4 1.8tq for like a year now, but the mainenance issues are scaring me. Now I found a frickin 2000 Civic EX Coupe manual tranny, with literally only 26,000 miles!!!! It came back totally fine on Carfax. And they only want $7900, blue book for those is $9900. I don't know what to do.

I knowyou guysAudi lovers here, which I am, but would you guys pay the same price for an Audi with 100k more miles knowing you are probably jumping into more maintenance down the road. ItsAWD and turbo vs. dependability and low miles here.I would really appreciate some input here because I need a car ASAP!

Everyone would agree that Audi isa much better vehicle and a different animal. But for me, I'm a realist, so if I was in your boat, I would get the civic- If you're tight on money and looking for reliability, the civic has the Audi beat on this one. Maybe drive the Honda for awhile, then down the road pick up an Audi; you'll enjoy it that much more after driving that rice burner!

Yeah Im not really tight on money per se, but Im not made of money . I just don't want to jump into something thats gonna be a money eater. I just don't know if I can justify in my own mind getting the Audi knowing full well that it it isn't the most practical decision. Civics are a dime a dozen, and my decision won't be soley based on whats the most practical of the two, if it was, Id just buy a 94 Civic for $$2000 or something and be done with it.

Buy whatever car that will make driving fun again thats what i thought about when buying my car. An Audi will be alot more fun then a Honda. Its all on your shoulders.
