i think i just read that some 2000's have the 170hp motor, how can you tell if you have a 2000.5 with the 170 hp?

You can check the engine code which is stamped on a plate on the engine.

AEB = 96-99.5
ATW = 2000
AMW = 2001

It's suppose it would have been possible to buy a very late 2000 and it have a 2001 engine.

I believe 170hp started in 2001 AWM.

looks like a rieger front with S4 sides.

You can tell if you have a 99.5 because your car was equiped with projector headlights from the factory.
