So I buy this car and fix all the vacuum leaks she turns out to be a wonderful car. Then one day....
I start her up she runs great as usual, make a couple stops and on the 3rd stop or so she would start. Let her sit for a while and she started right up ran fine no CEL. Took her home hooked her up to my VAG-COM ran a full scan, nothing.... ever since then, if I am out I have to leave the car running because of I shut it off more than 3 times it will not start unless it sits for a while. I have replaced the fuel pump, pump relay, and tested all circuits I can find this one. Please help!

 

Two guesses (and they are guesses):

1. Starter has a dead spot and needs to be replaced.
2. Solenoid on the starter gets warm and that is causing it not to function until it cools down.

When it won't start does it push start by popping the clutch?
