2001 A4 audio HELP!!!!!
hey guys quick question, does the stock radio for the A4 01 have a sub hookup feed to it or no? cuz i just sold my 00 celica and i'm pikcing up my 2.8 a4 this weekend, and wanted to know if there was a sub hook up or not...probally know i'm guessing but u never know anybody????
Off the top of my head, I can't recall any factory radio on any car that comes with RCA outputs. So the answer is no. What you'll need to do is go to the nearest Circuit City, Best Buy, or virtually any other place that sells Metra or Tsunami products, and pick up a Line Output Converter. This will plug into the back of your factory radio, and give you RCA outputs to plug RCA cables from the radio to the amplifier you will be using to connect your subwoofers. Hope this helps. The LOC should run you 20$, so it's not that big of a deal.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Line level, line output converters Suck A$$ they are POS and will make your bass sound like a dieing cow..... what you need to do is simple, you need two female RCA plug ends and you need to wire them directly to the RR and LR output on wire to each out and the other wire from each to the common ground.... then run your RCA's to the trunk and to the amp.... its so much better its not even funny man... and the person that invented the line out converter should be shot cuz they suck
