2002 A4 Underbody Plate Missing Screws
I just changed my 2002 Audi A4's oil for the first time since I have owned it (was under warantee until now). The underbody "noise insulation" plate under the engine and transmission is supposed to be held on by 3 main screws and a bunch of other screws all around the edge. My car only hast the 3 main screws near the back of the front plate, and the front of the back plate. The other screws are missing, and... get this... there were twist ties holding the sides on through screw holes in the side.
WTF?! I've got maintaince records of the car since it was purchased (I'm the 2nd owner), and *all* maintaince has been done by the same dealership it was purchased from. This really pisses me off... but oh well. Where can I get these screws?
OH, and another thing. Isn't there supposed to be a seal around the drain plug? There wasn't one on mine (and I replaced it without one). I was being very careful when I took it out to catch the seal, but there was *not* one.
Any help would be appreciated...

You can get the screws at the dealer but imo you dont really need them zipties work well, but i dont even run the stupid thing it just gets in the way and scrapes all the damn time..... as for the drain plug some have seal and others dont but if its not leaking then you should be ok

Those pan screws are useless. I went through about 12 in the span of a month. Use *zip* ties, its the only way. You may have to drill a hole or two in the plastic belly pan, but its nothing to sweat.

The drain plug seal is a one time use only item. It should be included with the filter when purchased. Use a new one each time and you shouldn't run without it. It's made of a softer metal (bronze or brass) than the threaded plug or the oil pan. The plug tightened to the pan my eventually gouge and create problems (leak, damage, cracks)
