Default 2003 A4 1.8T Cam Seal Adjusters Oil Leak

I took my 03 A4 1.8Tinto the dealershipfor its 60K service and was told that I have an oil leak from the cam seal adjusters. The service advisor said the leak was severe but I didn't need to do anything right away--just "watch out for it." He estimated it would be $850-$900 to fix. He also said this was a common problem for A4s with 60,000--80,000 miles. Has anyone else had or heard ofthis issue? Does this amount seem reasonable to have it fixed? And how long can I drive it in this condition? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there. I recently got my 03 A4 1.8T from the dealer a week ago. Mine also has about 64,000 miles on it. What exactly did you have to get checked/maintained by the dealer? As for mine, I don't see any leak or haven't seen abything yet.

Default RE: 2003 A4 1.8T Cam Seal Adjusters Oil Leak

It was supposed to be a routine service--oil and filter change, top the fluids, inspection of the brakes, exhaust and undercarriage. I also had the A/C flushed. I had an oil change at 54K before that. In the last 6 months I've spent about $1,400 on various repairs and problems. I love the look of the car and how it drives, butI'm starting to wonder what's next.
