Default 2003 A4 Engine Noise and Vibrating -- Please Help

I recently started hearing a loud reving-type noise whenever I start my 2003 A4. THe car was running w/o any problems for close to a year and a half. Now, every time I start the car, especially after it's been sitting quietly for a while, or over night, I hear a strong revving noise and feel a very strong vibration and almost squeeking from the engine. When I took the car to the dealer, they just told me the problem stems from oil that has been sitting in the engine overnight and that certain parts of the engine were not being lubricated properly. Once the cars gets warmed up after driving for a bit the revving and vibrating and humming seems to go away. The dealer said this was common in other A4s. Somehow I tend not to believe the dealer and don't understand why all of a sudden this problems seems to be getting worse and worse. Does anyone out there have any advice, or ideas. Maybe someone else has experienced the same thing. Looking for any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the kind welcome. I figured out that the problem was that I didn;t have enough power steering fluid. That was casuing all the noise. I'm just amazed that, on my own, I was able to work out the problem when Audi's best technicians in North Jersey turned my car inside and out, twice, and couldn't come up with the answer. Amazing.

Did they charge you for the diagnostic?

I'm not surprised that you are a better diagnostician than the best North NJ has to offer.

I haven't been any better off in South Jersey.

Check all your fluids once a month while your filling up at the gas station. to make sure this never happens again
