Hello,

I have a 2003 A4, I just purchased the car in March of this year. Everytime I start the car and go into drive, whether the wheel is turned or not it makes a loud CLUNK noise. This happends all through out the day, and only when the car is started and proceeds into drive. I took it in for service at 10,000 miles and let them know about the noise. They said it has to do with the CVT....? Does this sound familiar to anyone? I appreciate the feedback!

 

Nope not normal. If they say they "all do that", ask to take one off the lot for a test drive.

Sounds like either a loose mount. On older cars, this would be a worn universal joint.
