PandaXpress you are a cannon! thanks 4 the inputs man... much appreciated! I think I'm going to purchase an '03 A4 3.0 quatro sport package... 49k miles for 18 thousand. does that sound like a good deal? can that kit you sent me be done with this car?? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&amp ;pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNu mResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sor tfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&am p;criteria=K-%7CE-%7CM-_4_%7CB-20000%7CD-_21_%7CN-N%7CR-30%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE+descending%7CQ-descending%7CZ-92124&aff=national&paId=134410287&recn um=8&leadExists=true

by the way... the Audi dealership I visited earlier informed me that the 2004 S4 I was looking at had a brand new engine in it with a re-built tranny... 40k on the car. they're asking 32k, but I can pick it up for 26k. 2-yr Audi certified warranty etc. what do you think man? good deal?

Oh yeah... and if y'all had to choose, would you buy an '03 A4 3.0 with 49k miles for 20,000...or... an '05 A4 3.0 with 37k miles for 26,000? the 2nd choice is from an Audi dealer, with the warranty and the whole package. I would prefer the S4, but any inputs would help. Thanks!

You might wanna ask you self a question....why would someone need to put a new tranny and engine in a car that only has 40k miles on it?

yeah... I thought the same thing, and even crawled around under the car... everything looks clean, and a new engine is fine by me. the car seems solid. anythoughts between the A4's?

i would go with the S4 but theres something iffy about it thuogh casue 26k is a good price on it but on the other hand its audi certified wit a warreenty which is nice

who could ask for more go with the S4, but i just hope it wont be a headache or somehting in the futre

and that kit can fit on any 2002-2005 A4 or 2004-2005 s4

I think the A4 is what I'm going to take... it turns out that the S4's engine was "overhauled" after speaking to the manager. After taxes I'm looking at $28,000 for the '03 A4 3.0.it's got 37kmiles, sport package, all the extras, certified warranties, new rubber(perelli). is this a good deal?

to me that seems a little high for an 03...you can almost buy a new one for that.

Seems a bit high to me as well.

I just paid $23,999 (pre tax) for an '04 3.0QM (about a month ago) with 40k mi, certified, new tires, new brakes, immaculate, beige on premium black leather, sport, winter, convienence, and premium... and the sales guy threw in the base crossbars (roof rack) because of the one ding I could find on the chrome around the drivers window... I was given the option of the roof rack or them fixing it, which involved taking the door completely apart as the chrome is riveted on the inside of the door skin, and he said they'd have to keep the car for a few days... I needed the car

Probably could have fought the price down a bit, but it was exactly what I wanted, was in amazing shape, and finding a 3.0QM was tough... very happy with it so far.

My bad... that was an '05 A4 I was looking at for 28k out the door. does it still seem too expensive?

There's also another '04 S4 I found... 25k miles selling for $33,000. decisions, decisions!!
