Default 2003 A4 Snap, Crackle, Pop Speaker Problems

Looking for some help w/ my car. I just bought a 2003 Audi A4 with the Bose Premium Sound and there is something really wrong with the stereo/speaker/amplifer. They make crackling/static like sounds on almost every song. Sounds like its coming from multiple speakers. I took the car to a local stereo shop thinking i needed the tweaters replaced, but he checked all speakers and said they are working fine. From here, he was lost. Suggested it could be the amplifier, which is located on the rear passenger's side in the trunk. Does anyone has ANY idea or maybe you've had this problem. Would really appreciate some help b/c i dont know where to turn from here.

I should note, it doesn't affect all songs, some are much worse and while others aren't as bad.

your second post/comment would make me question the head unit, although the amp can easily produce the same symptoms. Personally i would start with the amp and work from there, find a buddy that will let you take his out to test it (or attach your amp to his car) or just man up, log onto ebay, and see if you can find a replacement.

Tried the ebay thing, very rare and hard to find. Audi wants $670 and thats too much when i'm not sure it's going to work. Is it easy to remove the amp, this is new to me? Thanks.

damn thats a good chunk of change! the amp should be under the rear seat if i remember reading correctly, just pull it up and see, bet it will come out with a few screws.

Does it make the noise when you play a CD as well?? My 02 a4 does the same thing but only with the radio. I think it's a reception issue...

cd and radio. it comes from pretty much every speaker so it has to be the amp or the head unit. i just have no idea which one to look into.
