2003 Bluetooth Add-on
Hello Everyone!
I am new to the audi forums-- My name is Joey....I just bought a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro...Its awesome! But, I want to add bluetooth to it. I read on here that you could by the parrot bluetooth, and then interface it into the steering wheel controls. How does this work? Is it compatible with an 03' A4 ? I have steering wheel controls, because it is a 3.0, but none of them are for the phone. How does this bluetooth device work?
Does it use the factory speakers through the radio or does it have its own speaker?
I noticed in the settings on my symphony bose radio (without nav) It says something for phone volume. That is why I am wondering if you can use the factory speakers...I know it will mute the radio.
And also, I wonder how you would use the existing steering wheel controls with the phone, because they are for the radio and for the CD changer and the volume and what not...
If anyone can answer my questions, I would really appreciate it!!
Thanks
Joey

Well the only one I've seen is a guy who also had a RNS-E. But this is how his worked...
If you have a bluetooth cell phone then once you get close to the car your phone will sync via bluetooth with the car. You don't have to "dock" it or hook it up to anything. There is a mic near the overhead lights in the roof. If you look closely you can see some type of gill there so that it can pick up audio. Anyway, he was able to use his RNS-E to access his address book in his phone. He chose who he wanted to call through the display and all the auido for the call when through the car speakers and the mic in the roof picked up the audio. It was really cool and for states that don't allow cell phone usage while driving it is an absolute must.
