For anybody about to get an APR ECU Stage 1 upgrade ECU for there 1.8T don't do it for 2005! Not yet atleast. I called APR for shipping directions and i told them eveyrthing about the car. Well, they said you dont want us to drill a chip into your ECU b/c its so new of a car and we don't really know how it would react to it yet. So they told me to do the Direct Port programming which is the same thing just without the chip and 120% undetectable. I had to find a dealer that would download though. So I drove 2 hours had it done also you MUST have your Diverter Valve($150) replaced in order to handle the boost. The DV they give you on your Audi sucks. Right now my check engine light is on and no one can figure out why. BUt for anybody who has the '05 A4 this is the way to go and not send your ECu off to APR. And if anybody knows how to turn the check engine light off it would help out a lot.

 

You need to get the car scanned for the code. Go to autozone and have them scan it/turn it off.

 

Turn what off the direct port upgrade?

 

They can turn off your CEL, or at least tell you why it is illuminated.
