Cool Got APR Direct Port Level 1 Flash Last Night

My local APR shop here in Austin (www.mzmperformance.com) flashed my '07 A4QT last night with the APR level 1 / 93 octane flash. I also put in a K&N filter, too. What a difference! My A4 no longer lags off the line and acceleration now feels like a turbo should. It is so quick now it will even occasionally engage traction control despite having brand new P6's. Good thing gas is cheap again ;-) The cost was $599 for the flash. This did not include the system lockout or valet or stock modes. Wow, now the car is beginning to justify the high price tag and match-up with the outstanding handling...

Thanks, eMacPaul. I actually look forward to driving to work now :-). Not sure what's next - probably fortifying the DV and installing a Carbonio intake...

Hey DMFAN - you sure about the DV? They boys at http://stratmosphere.com/index.htm said they haven't seen issues with the newer DV's on B7 2007 2.0's that have been chipped. But, you have me concerned, because I do hear a slight 'almost-whistle' now when at full throttle...Have you heard of anyone needding to replace the DV on a 2007 B7 2.0? Know of anyone that sells a proven & fortified after-market DV? Thanks.

Found an interesting post about a REVO chipped 2007 A4 2.0 Tiptronic. He also had a Forge 007 DV. Enjoy...

yeah i have blown my dv.....i have a unitronics chip....its a little bit more aggressive then apr but i blew my dv 3 days after i had my chip (ok ok i got a little case of lead foot but who doesn;t the first couple weeks after getting thier car chipped?) but i have a forge diverter valve....all metal housing no plastic or plastic bladder either....haven;t had an issue with it yet

also your DV isn;t blown your hearing the air rushing in at high rpms because of the added boost combine that with the free flowing k&n and thats where ur whitlse comes from

you'll know you've blown ur dv because its a significant whitsle, and you also have absolutely no torque...

go with forge because it will fail eventually the factory dv is a very delicate plastic bladder that triggers a solenoid when its in use to recirculate the extra boost, the forge is a manually working dv and its super easy to install just a bitch of a location

LOL! Three days? What's next, a trailer hitch? (joke). I ordered the Forge DV yesterday and that's good to hear about the build quality. The photos on their site were hi-res; you can tell this ain't your typical DV. Sucky about placement. In the meantime, I'll keep the whistling to a minimum....

Eh, I'm still using the stock DV... pushing 18-19 psi... no problems after 2k miles yet. The way I see it, anyway, there's no real need to keep boost low until you install the Forge DV because it might as well be blown already then. So have fun with it! If it does break, you're not significantly worse off, and you can have the Forge on pretty quick.

If you have the older version DV, it will fail within a week. You probably already have the upgraded version. My DV and PCV failed when I got my flash. I set the program back to stock (have 91 oct, stock and security lock-out programs) and took it the dealer and they replaced both with the upgraded versions under warranty, though I had to wait 3 days for the parts. When my DV failed, I didn't hear any whistling noise at all, I just noticed by looking at my boost gauge that it lost 4-5 psi and the pull wasn't as hard anymore
