Hello all this is my first post.

I'm trying to diagnose this loud sound coming from my sister car. On cold start up it takes 10 minutes before you hear anything then the noise just gets louder and louder. It only makes the sound at idle.

At first we thought it was a belt so we got some belt lubricant which did nothing. Her car has started leaking coolant, now I'm thinking maybe water pump is going out and maybe the pulley on the water pump is doing the Squealing.

She took it to a mechanic that came up with some crazy theory that it needs a few oils changes and that the moving parts in the main motor is making the noise.
If you ask me he probably doesn't have much experience with audi and heard the a4 engine sound which gives off a diesel sound which made him think the valves were clattering from bad oil. To be honest I thought he was an idiot when I heard what he said.

I hope to find someone who has seen this before. I'm thinking it can be a pulley or pulley tensioner possibly the water pump pulley hence the car is now leaking water.

It was some water valve in the back of the motor.
