235/40/18 tires on b5

I am thinking of getting lips that are another .5" wider, and maybe 1" wider in back, which would require about a 245 up front and prolly 265 out back. I'm starting to like the euro stretch look for some reason

I have 225/40/18 all the way arround and the front is less than a finger gap, and i don't have any problems with rubbing, i also set the damping at 75-80% hard up front and 90% hard in the back and it handles like a champ. Although the damping won't cure your wheel rubbing problem, it will stiffen things up a bit.

where would you get the lips from? make them your self or what?
Sure you can do it yourself. I bought a $10 wooden rolling pin at Target. I then bent one of the handles nearly 90 degrees. After applying the heat gun to the car (with the wheel off) I used the rolling pin to roll along the inside lip of the fender. Took a little elbow greases, but I never had a single chip or flake of paint come off.

Pics? Instructions?
I hope to buy coilovers soon, then wheels... And I want to go 235 45 17's... so if rolling the fenders is a must, then so be it. Just wanna know if its something I can do myself, or how much it costs to pay someone.

You can roll your fenders with 235's and you will be fine. I had a 1 finger gap on my sedan with race springs. I rubbed like crazy with my 235/40/18's until I rolled them with my rolling tool ( a modified rolling pin)
