I have a 2002 A4 and the drivers exterior door handle cover is coming loose. The handle itself seems fine, its just the paint coloured cover that attaches over it. Does anyone know if this cover just clips on or whether there are any screws I can tighten. I dont want it to come off completely when driving. Also the lock itself seems to rattle a little so this may be related to it also. Hope this makes sense.

Without actually seein this I would say that you should take the door trim off & have a look, see what you can do from there as thats the only way to truly find out whats going on...

 

I have the exact same problem on my 04. I am taking it to the dealer to see if they can fix it or have to replace it. They told me they might be able to adjust it, but I did not see an external fitting that would let you do it...so I'm going to let them tell me. Post something if you figure it out!

Sounds like it might be a common problem, hopefully with a well known cure.
I'm downloading an Audi technical manual now so am hoping that will give me some clues.
Can you let me know whether the garage can rectify it for you and if so what they did. Yours will still be in warranty, mine sadly isn't no more so dont want to have to take it in to the dealers if I can help it.

 

I'm going to try the suggestion from Audi scientist in that other post. Taking it in takes way too much time - I'm handy enough to figure that out if it's like it sounds.

I just did the Bentley download myself - I hope that tells us.
