I hear valve noise at startup, dealer says normal w/ the 3.0 engineuntil oil pressure builds.They have also told meits the Cam Chain Tensioner. The car has26,000 miles on it and the warranty is up next month.
Any help would be great, thanks T-

 

Mine makes the same noise with the same mileage... if that's any consolation to you.

 

All 3.0L engines sound like a diesel when they first start up because of the cam tensioners thats right.
The 3.0L tensioners are different than other engines, they have four tensioners one on each cam that have a hydraulic block on the end of them and it take a second for it to build up pressure in them which makes them sound horribly loud for a couple of seconds. One more of the reasons audi doesn't make the 3.0L engine anymore.
