Default BATTERY REPLACEMENT

I had to replace battery in 2003 A4 Avant recently. Not a big deal in itself but saw many posts in this forum that said "Beware of this and that...", said not only will you lose obvious things when battery removed (radio stations) but window up/down programming, radio security, alarm, door locks and others.

I bought an item called "Memor-Eze" for under 20 bucks from Kragen: It plugs into your cigaretted lighter and runs on a 9v battery. (Plug it in before battery removed).

I don't know for sure if it worked, but I had NO problems and did not have to reprogram anything once new battery installed.

Hope that helps...it was worth the money.

Those things actually work pretty well, I have used one on my work van while it's been in the shop because I always forget how to program the radios clock[&:]

That 'Memor-eze' sounds like a good idea. How would you reprogram the windows, security alarm and door locks??

Apperently I need to do a Throttle Body Alignment and need to disconnect my battery for a few min. and then reconnect and turn the key in the ignition but not actually crank and let it reset itself.

Does that actually work??

PS sorry for the segue.
