3.0 vs 1.8t
opinions, how are they different/similar, in quattro of course? been lookin for a clean s4, but decided to check out the b6 a4's as well. a good s4 is hard to come by so i wanted to check these out. i tried to search this topic with no luck, so i made a thread. currently i drive a camaro and i love it. i WILL NOT HAVE FWD, but ill settle for awd. so help me out please. 1.8t seems like a good choice, but maybe the 3.0 will be more reliable? anyways, any and all feedback is appreciated.
Everybody seems to be in love with the 1.8t, and I've driven them and they seem nice, but I'd stick w/the 3.0. Simpler and more clean power in my opinion but that's just me. Try em' both out and see if you can distinguish some preference.

What do you want out of it? The 3.0 has more power STOCK but also weighs more and will eat more gas. The 1.8T will make way more power in the long run with a few key mods and weighs less. It depends on what you want from the car......
if you wanna mod get the 1.8t
if you wanna be quick and reliable with out any modding than get the 3.0
thats pretty much the bottom line.
my opinion: get a B5 and save $10,000 and put 10 grand into the B5 and make is REDICULOUS.... were talking 300hp with flip down DVD's...you could get the tightest B5 in the world if you went this route, lol

i get 16 miles to the gallon now, anything is better. so gas is not on my mind. i want some reliabilty. i just didnt know if one is way better than the other, but i guess its kinda close. i wont be modding the crap out of it b/c if i wanted a race car i would buy a c5 vette. im gonna moding the suspension and adding a great sounding system. but if i get a 1.8t, ill have to mod it slightly. we shall see during the test drive.
