I am not sure if this would be the prob but when my car started to act up like that it was the maf sensor on the top of the air box. But you dont need three codes for the warning light to go on. My went on with just one code reading
i've had 2 codes before, with no warning light, so i don't know what to say to that.

What do you guys think i should do? Bring it to a shop and let them charge me $75 just to figure out what the problem is?

My car did the same thing and Audi said they had to clean the throttle-body, then now they tell me a new transmission.
ill bet its the second one if the dealer has a say in that.,.. cant find the problem, just throw a new trans in it

I guess the answer is in the APR chip so not my area,
you can have many more soft error codes stored and not put the CEL on,
getting the codes depends on what type of code reader autozone uses VAG is still the best for this

I'll go ahead and send an email to APR to see if they have anything to say. If i don't get an answer I'll call them up on tuesday. I'll also give the closest Audi dealer a call (it's like an hour away) and see if they have anything to say about the possibility of it being the MAF and how much the MAF costs. Is the MAF something i can pop the hood open and install myself?

i would not call the audi dealer that could be the wost thing to do. Is there a small local audi dealer by your house I went to one and was talking to the guy about my car. He let me just try the maf sensor to see if thats the prob. But ya i got the part for 250 instead on the 500 the dealer wanted.

MAF sensor would put the CEL on and leave its dreaded code but very simple to fit
