I always thought it was 3 exhaust and 2 intake... but i guess in the famous words of Check.. "Im an asshat"... its 3 intake and 2 exhaust valves, on the 30v 2.8 hmmm

 

Fo real.3 intake, 2 exhaust.Some one once told me in the conception days of my auto enthusiasm "An engine has more intake than exhaust valves".

 

Yeah, always more intake valves (or they are bigger in the case of 4&2 valve motors)... because atmospheric pressure is what pulls intake gasses -- and since the piston actively pushes exhaust gasses out, only 2 exhaust are required.
