is 89 octane gas ok for a stock b6 1.8 enigne

 

The Manual says its recommends 91, but it also says it may operate on 87

 

When I burn 89 it seems to run through the car like water but I could be wrong

 

Will it run? Yes. Will it cause problems? Maybe but doubt it.

I always use 93. Why? I think the higher octane gets me better mpg, which offsets the cost compared to the 87 octane. In the end, I think it will work out just about even so why do that to your baby? Nobody puts baby on 87 octane.

your mama give you milk when you are baby because it is good for you. she could have given you water because it is cheaper.

Never. Our babies deserve to have the best possible gas out there. I always use the highest available. When it comes down to it, it's only a couple dollars more a tank.

Ya, honestly. you are going to spend thalsands of dollars on a great car, but you will stiff it a few buchs a tank just to save some? The engines will last longer and run better with better gas.

Its like someone stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. Its not worth it.

 

I always say if you wanted to save a couple bucks and skimp on something.... shoulda bought a honda
