Hi all,

I wanted to do a 90,000 service on my 1997 A4 2.8L, the dealer gave me a approximate price of $800 for maintainance and $1700 for timing belt.

can any one tell me what is a 90,000 service.

what all things are covered here.

1700 is WAY over priced for t-belt. u can get in done for around 700-800 at a local euro shop. ditch the dealer

 

but is it reliable to go to a local euro dealer.

yeah they can be reliable. go talk to the guy first. usually you can tell whether or not you trust him from a first impression.

 

Or do the timing belt kit yourself for about $300! Im pretty sure there is a 2.8 timing belt kit available. Check ecstuning.com.

my dealter quoted me 1300 for a timing belt. I'm going to look at the local guys first. I'm not all that impressed with my dealership. They seem to do an adequate job, but will never notice some obvious things.
