Is it possible just to wire in a new horn? I have a loud *** Air horn car alarm, is it possible to use that as my alarm and horn?

I NEED TO BEEP AT PEOPLE![&:]

Hey

I just researched and read about a recall for the horn back in good ole 1996. It says something about the ground contacts messing up and malfunctioning.
I think that is what is going on with my horn. It sounds like a little girly biatch horn and like i drive a clown car.
No one in other cars can hear it and it's quite scary when its require ( i.e someone turning into you and your lane on the highway)

Can someone with experiance ellaborate further for me or just point me to the direction of the horn and it's contacts!

thanks
yes, there is a recall on them. but its only for a bad earth meaning that the horns can work one day and not at all the next day.
your horns are totaled. gets a new pair from autozone, they sell the same horns as your using now. you WILL need to buy a high tone AND a low tone horn. i had the same problem, i replaced them with the same horns and now i can scare the living sh*t out of people.
take your horns off and just listen to all the rust inside them. i sujest that when you go buy a new pair you move them away from the grill where the water cant get to them.
but your horns are past their use by date.

Where are the horns? Don't have subscription to online manual anymore.

thanks again

My TT had a bad horn when I first got it, and it was replaced under warranty. Stupid thing sounded like an old VW Bug. They replaced the low tone horn and now the thing is loud as s**t.

mine were justpin connectors. if yours is a plug thenyou can cut it off and put connectors on the end. just make sure that you keep each hornwire set(2 wires) togethor so you dont have 2 negatives going to one horn.
both horns should be located next to the refrigerator (passenger side) behind the lower grill.
another reason why i moved them from behind the grill is becuase their easy to get out but pretty awkrad to get back in plus you dont have much wire to play around with. i extended my wires aswell, just so its more easier to work with.
mine are mounted next to my abs pump and screwed onto the headlight cover where the ballast goes.
while your buying your horns, i would recomend buying a service manual aswell, i think autozone sell them for $20-$30??
