97 A4 wont start help
i have a 97 p reg audi a4 1.8 with a starting problem
it cranks over but wont start as there is no spark
yet when you bump start it, it starts fine runs fine
ive tried crank sensor, cam sensor, been to the local auto electrican
ive fitted new coil pack, batt, ing switch on the back of they key
ive tried everything
any help please ta.

its not a spark problem if it's the coolant temp sensor to which i referred. The temp sensor, if defective, could be telling your car that it is warmer than it actually is, thus not enough fuel is delivered on crank for a "cold" start.
The pedal to the floor is a very well known and common approach to diagnosing the coolant temp sensor issue. I don't make this crap up, you know.

Just because you didn’t say it or your car doesn’t know it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a faulty coolant temp sensor, as long as the sensor is giving the motor a temp then its going to THINK its working while in reality its not, you should check it out
