Put the pedal to the floor and turn the key. See if it starts that way. If so, then its likely your coolant temp sensor.

Hi . Thanks for the info, but I cannot see how putting the pedal to the floor can rectify a spark problem?

its not a spark problem if it's the coolant temp sensor to which i referred. The temp sensor, if defective, could be telling your car that it is warmer than it actually is, thus not enough fuel is delivered on crank for a "cold" start.

The pedal to the floor is a very well known and common approach to diagnosing the coolant temp sensor issue. I don't make this crap up, you know.

Just because you didn’t say it or your car doesn’t know it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a faulty coolant temp sensor, as long as the sensor is giving the motor a temp then its going to THINK its working while in reality its not, you should check it out

yep I agree he can bump start it and all is well then its a cheap battery with no cranking amps or not enough for the car, it has to have codes stored on a no start situation
