Hi all,
98 A4 Quattro - When I park the car with the windows open a little and lock it with the remote, the alarm goes off after a minute or so. The horn stops beeping after about 30 seconds, but the 4-way flashers still keep flashing. Anyone know what gives? The manual doesn't cover this anywhere I can find
TIA.

You have motion sensor in the car. You have to disable it to leave the windows open. its left side of the driver side next to the seat belt, small button click it twice and it will disable it.

if you have vag com you can reduce the sensitivity of the interior motion sensors so you dont have to turn it completely off.
Thanks guys!
I knew about the motion sensor but never thougt that would be the problem. I just went out and tried it and all it's working.
Thanks again!!!

Why would you leave your windows open if you are concerned about your car!
Close your windows!!!!! You can close them all with the key!

I leave the windows cracked because it's 95 and sunny here. The inside of the car is around 120 and that's a little too warm for me. Even when I open all the windows with the key, it's still freekin' hot.
I'm concerned about my car, but it's just a car. I don't live in a bad neighborhood and I can see it from my office window. If it gets stolen, so what. It's insured and I'll just get another (newer) one. If leaving the windows open an inch where I park it were cause for concern, I'd leave it home in my garage.

I see, I thought from your message they were wide open, Try the adjustment with the vag-com to lower the sensitivity. That should help you.
