Default 98 A4 Headlights

Can you help?
My headlights all of a sudden wont work, tail lights work, dash lights work, running lights work, but the head lights and fog lights wont work, the only way that I can get light is by manualy holding the brights on, the dash said that they are on, but even the fog light, light on the button does not even light up? also where is the fuse box? how do you get to it???

open driver door - pull off platic pannel - turn to page 190 of your manual to see what the fuses do

get a volt meter and start checking stuff out

Have you done anything to the car lately - any mods - battery replacement - anything electrical??

I was driving it home from the shop, the oil cooler bolt came loose, got new spark plugs, and anoil change, and that is when it started, dont think that would have anything to do with it. THe car came with out a manual, that is why I had to ask that stupid question, I called my friend who works on the car, he thinks it is most likely the switch?

i had a similar problem.. the ingnition switch. i know your going to read ingnition and think no way.. but do a search for ingnition switch and read what happens when that thing f cks up. my lights stoped working and i had to pull them back to drive with them. on.. i read on here that its likely a I.S.
i got a new one for 80 bucks at the stealership and swapped out myself. it was real easy, you just have to take the steering wheel off (which is reallll easy) and like 4 more bolts.
i suggest looking it up. good luck
