I just got a used 98 A4 2.8 quattro and the CEL came on and started blinking about a week ago. Brought it to AutoZone and they hooked it up to their computer and cylinders 1,2, and 3 are misfiring. I checked these forums and decided to try replacing the ICM. I ordered a new ICM and went to install it and for the life of me can't locate the part. I have checked other threads for some idea of the location and people say its right out in the open and pretty easy to find. Still no luck. Can I please get some help this is really frustrating.

 

usually coil packs or ignition related sometime the MAF, replacing the cars brain is usually a last resort, later models need a special programming to accept a new electronic control module, not sure for yours
