i am looking at a 99 a4 1.8 with 87k miles. the car has always been dealer maintained and has mostly highway miles...runs perfect. would chipping an engine with this many miles be wise? i would absolutely love the performance upgrade but i also want it to last for a while. anyone have experience chipping hi mileage 1.8s?

 

Yes, it is. I chipped my 99 a4 1.8 at ~90k miles. It is at 100k now. Make sure you get a new DV.
