Is it worth chipping a Tip B6 car?
I've been searching some of the threads and have come across some posts that seem to indicate that the 1.8T Tip cars don't take well to a chip. Some of the posts seem to indicate that the power gains are negated by the Tip gearbox. I was looking forward to chipping the 03' Avant I am getting this week. Can anyone weigh in on this?
Um gee. let me think...................................YESYESYESY ES it's worth it.
If you want to mod the s***t out of your car, get a manual. But if you want to get better everyday power, then deffinetly get it.

There is no tranny chip for the B6, that is only the B5.
You can use Vagcom to modify the way your tranny behaves. do a search and you will find a few threads on it.
and yes the chip is worth it.

No, the Avant will be replacing the 3.0 sedan. I wanted a wagon and something that was a little better on gas. I'm going to miss the power of the 3.0 if I can't chip this. I've been reading that the B6 Tip cars don't like to be chipped.
