So I recently purchased the car. 85000 on the odometer, it now has 95000 on it. Last week if felt more sluggish than normal, I didn't think much of it until I went to pass someone and the car had a hard time getting up to the redline in 3rd gear. Almost like the turbo isn't spooling up or like the fuel isn't getting to the motor. I don't think it is fuel because it is running supper smooth... No jerking or sputtering or any of the normal fuel/spark problems. I am no mechanic, but I have had my share of problems with cars, and I have some common since. My biggest fear is bringing it some where here in Baxter, MN and having them look at the car all day and then tell me, "Ahhh yeah we don't know what is wrong, we think it works fine"!!! Because I have had that happen before, and it does work fine, it is just not as fast as it should be, and I don't here the turbo spooling up any more. ($200 later, and a lot more frustrated!)[:@][:'(]

Please if anyone knows what this might be, This is the first turbo I have owned so I am clueless!

so im assuming theres no CEL.

i would go to autozone and scan for codes to see if anything comes up. i had a boost leak a few weeks ago with no CEL on and it didn't perform as well, and then i went and scanned it and fixed the line.

 

Yeah, No engine light. But they were able to decect a boost leak anyway?

 

it is possible. there can be codes regardless if a CEL is on or not. a small difference may not turn on a CEL as in my case.

 

what year is your car by the way?

 

IT'S a 1999

 

I don't even hear the Turbo Spooling up any more. I used to hear a whine when I got on it hard. Now nothing!
