I've looked through the forum here, but haven't found anything conclusive. If there is an answer here already, please let me know.

I have an A4 1.8, 2001.
I have issues with the brakes at low speeds. When driving in the city and the constant creeping and slow stops the brakes squeal awful. This is not a problem with higher speed braking... I'd say it only makes noise when the brakes are applied at less than 10kph.

I had the dealership replace the pads but this didn't change anything. Are there replacement pads, harder or softer that will not squeal? If so can someone recommend a vendor, or shop that will be able to correct this problem. The dealership is uncooperative.

new pads will squeak. I'm in the process of breaking mine in. give it a week or two.

 

yea id say see if the new pads stop squaling after a while, they might be breaking in, but if it still continues in the same way the old ones did, id get the rotors checked
