Default A4 1.8 Oil Leaking Question?

Hi, Audi lovers.
I have a 1997 1.8T (Automatic) that I have an issue with oil leaking.
I have fixed the engine oil sludge two weeks ago. So, the mechanic changed the gasket.
When I went to change the oil yesterday, the mechanic said that there was an oil leaking from the timing belt.
I am not sure about that because I changed my timing belt one year ago.
But at that time, I went to another shop to fix the timing belt.

This guy said that it could damage the timing belt. How do I know the leaks from the timing belt?
The funny thing is that he did not see any leaks when he was fixing the engine oil leak such as the gasket.
Thank you.

Oil leaking on the timing belt is probably from the camshaft radial seal. It could however be your front crankshaft seal leaking.

The oil may weaken the belt. The front engine seals may be leaking. These should be changed at the same time as the timing belt. The parts are only 10 dollars and it takes 10 minutes

Oil and coolant on the belt is one of the causes audi is using for the "premature" failure of their timing belts. so you should get it taken care of.
