Hi, i was wondering if anyone can help me out here, i was just looking around the engine and i noticed that my coolant level is at close to MINline and i was wondering if thats normal or i should add some coolant to it to get it up to Max or somewhere in between?

*what kind of coolant should i use? the stuff inside looks redish so im assuming that is the G12?
*can i just buy some g12 coolant from the dealership or anywhere else and open the cap and add on to it or is there a certain way to do it?.

G12 is the designation for coolant level sensor thats built inside the coolant resivior.
You can only use the factory audi coolant, you can't buy it at autozone or a store like that.

 

ok thanks, so when i get it from the dealership is it ok to just add on top of what i have and get it to the level of near Max or is there nother way to do it. (mixing it with water ect.) ? Thanks

 

The coolant is 100% from the dealer so you need to mix 50% water with it.

 

50% mix with distilled wateris reccomended.

You can buy G12 at most import auto parts stores, or even ecstuning.com

You dont HAVE to go to the dealer to get it, although they have it also (probably twice the price!)
