I am having a 60K recommended service done on my 2003 1.8t A4 next week and I was quoted an estimate of $500 for the service over the phone. Am wondering if the a4 community feels that the recommended service is worth the money in terms of preventative maintainence and if anyone had their car's performance increase as a result.

Also, my audi's heater blower will only blow out cold air. am having that checked as well. I checked both the fuses and coolant and both are fine. Has anyone had something similar happen to their car and how much financial damage should I expect to incur to fix the problem.

Also, anyone know of a good independant audi mechanic in the Washington DC area?
