[:@][X(] a4 audi tdi fuel gauge moves(but hardly)fuel light on and gauge on empty,even when tank is full!!.. replaced sender unit with brand new one,all needles sweep to full-on diagnostic check,wires on sender 2 have power 2 dont been told thats right.
SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?????????????????

 

What resistance do the senders read in the instrument cluster? Does it match the resistance of the senders in the tank?

 

the needle stays so low(it does move) that the fuel light stays on.

 

all i have wrote is all i know,if theres any advice out there that anyone can give me,any ideas i can try?

 

SENDER WIRES ARE ALL DEAD WITH IGNITION ON, AND 1 LIVE AND 3 DEAD WITH CAR RUNNING,IS THIS RIGHT?????????

 

All those wires on the sender cap arent for the gauge. Two are for the pump and two are for the sender. Sounds like you have voltage supply issues. You should have voltage to the pump and to the senders with the engine running.

IM LOST,WHAT DO I DO NEXT,WHAT WOULD YOU DO? ID TAKE IT TO AUDI BUT THEY WANT A FORTUNE JUST TO LOOK AT IT.
IVE CHECKED ALL THE FUSES LOCATED AT END OF THE DASHBOARD,WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN?

4 WIRES ON SENDER/PUMP
WHICH SHOULD BE LIVE? THERE ARE 2 THICK WIRES ONE GREEN,ONE BROWN,
TWO THIN WIRES ONE IS PURPLE FORGOT COLOUR OF OTHER ONE
IM ONLY GETTING A LIVE SIGNAL FROM THE THICK GREEN WIRE. also my car started without the plug connected is that normal?

ive only used a 12v tester. thanks.

 

had sender and wiring checked,sender reads 66 ohms,same as one already out of car,wiring is ok, must be clocks or circuit board on back of instruments any clocks? PART NUMBER 8EO-920-950-F. TEL:07775 976 914
