A4 2.0 oil change
My car is at 2200 miles. I was told that I should change my oil at 1000 miles, even though Audi will do it at 5000 miles. So three questions:
1. Would it hurt or help if I changed the oil now, or should I wait?
2. If so, should I use synthetic oil?
3. If so, any particular brand?
Thanks in advance

Do it when it says to do it.. because your in the break in period.. changing your oil to soon can damage your engine.. Audi says to do it at 5000 miles then do it at 5000 miles.. I am pretty sure they know best. After all they did build the car
I've never heard that changing your oil to early can damage your engine. I changed my oil at 1,500 miles(after my break in period) and change it every 4,000 now. I use an Audi oil filter and Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil. Personally, I would go ahead and change the oil if I were you. If you have any doubts, call your dealership and talk to the maint. manager and see what he has to say.
I have heard that when your engine is breaking in (not sure on the miles) but it will have small traces of metal in it from the engine that helps with the breakin..
Anyone else got some cents on this?
