Can anyone help! my 2.5tdi has started to smoke at idle this happens intermittently but is quite bad, it seems as though its getting to much fuel. I changed the MOF a couple of months ago.

 

tis a hard one mate im no diesel tech but my bro has one ( poor sod ) and it was the flexi pipes between each injector they were leaking

 

since when are tdi's 2.5 ? i thought they were 1.9 ?

 

europe got a whole wack of engines we never saw. the 2.5 tdi is a V6 I believe. TONS of torque.

 

crazy...i know they got the 2.6 gas v6

 

Sorry guys!! but i have misled you on the smoke it is burning oil not overfuelling[:@]. But it is still only at idle though and not all the time and not when starting from cold. no clouds of smoke when turbo kicks in and still got power.

you could try some cleaner agent

injector and system cleaner

oil system slick 50 very good stuff for revitalising the engine oil seals and put life back into the engine

I've used injector cleaner thx, i'm thinking that I may have a leaking valve stem seal?
