Default A4 2.8 Quattro

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone had any feedback or insights on this car?

Originally, I had a 1.8T on the radar, but the deal went very sour...

I'm considering this one now but thought I'd run it by the experts.

Thanks!

It depends if you want to be modding your car.
If you do , wait for a 1.8T , if not, the V6 is great. Nice and smooth.

they both have there advantages, if u want to mod get the 1.8t if u want a fairly quick car thats more reliable get the 2.8l

the 30v v6 is a good reliable engine. its strong enough stock (for some of us) and it will give you a smooth ride and acceleration. the only drawback is the ammount of mods available, theres more than 100x more stuff available for the 1.8t. check out the new european car mag theres a cool article about the PES supercharger for the 3.0l v6 which is just a slightly larger version of the 2.8l v6.

Sorry about the link, here let me try again:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...sp=y&cardist=7

The stats are:

Asking 10.5K (Should be negotiable)
85K Miles
Looks like Triptonic
Bose w/CD Changer in trunk
Luxury apointments (wood grain dash)..

Here's the text from the ad if the link doesn't work:

"The price is well below KBB or NADA. This car has everything: moonroof, Bose sound system with a 6 disc CD player (located in the trunk), dual heated front leather seats, climate control which allows you to set the exact temperature, fog lights, and the famous Quattro AWD system. The windows are tinted to Florida standards. The interior is immaculate and the exterior is in great condition with the exception of the hood, right above the grill. There are a few road wear nicks where pebbles jumped up and took some paint with it. See it in the pictures for a better idea. I bought four (4) new tires 2000 miles ago. It's sitting on Goodyear Eagle RSAs. Other than that, the normal wear and tear. If you have ANY questions in regards to the car, please contact me and I will reply promptly. Thanks for your time.

Driver Air Bag; Anti-Lock Brakes; Air Conditioning; Alloy Wheels; Cruise Control; Compact Disc Changer; Passenger Air Bag; Rear Window Defroster; Power Seats; AM/FM Stereo Cassette; Leather Seats; Power Door Locks; Power Mirrors; Power Windows; Power Steering; Sunroof/Moonroof; Tinted Glass; Tilt Wheel; "

I'm gonna go down and check it out tomorrow.

It does look like this car as been well kept. I've been checking out 1.8Ts and have not liked what happens to the door grab handles.. I think these 2.8s have more luxury appointments. what do you think about price and mileage? Are they on point?

deffinetley talk them down, 10,500 is ok but i bet u could get it down in the nines

make sure the TB has been done because thats a spendy job and at 85k it needs to be done,
make sure the sun roof works good
look at the control arms and tierod ends those are known to be bad.

and dont let these things keep you from buying the car just use them as leverage on getting that price down

I just got my 1.8TQMS for 8k with 100k in mint shape with ALL records. Def talk down. Wait for the right car. I had to walk away from a car I bought on ebay and spent 500 in traveling, then got my new car the next day as it was just listed in the paper.
