Thanks Sandman..

I spoke with the guy and will see the car today. He'll allow me to bring it to my mechanic on Monday to inspect.
I believe that the TB was done, but we'll find out then and when i run the VIN thru the Local Audi dealer/service center where's he's been bringing it to here. Have you heard of a Serpentine belt? Is that the timing belt?

Thanks for all the advice! I'll let you know how it goes.

Yes, I hear that. I went down to Tampa and had these crooks try to sell me a 1.8T that had no mechanical problems.
However, the AC compressor and other doo-hickies on it needed to be replaced (2K). It was a fiasco!!

I'll definitely end up getting it locally. Jacksonville is a pretty big town, and I'm sure I'll find the right car at the right $.
Thanks!

That's cool to hear. I took it for a little test spin, and while it didn't seem to have the lower torque pick up in the early gears, that's the nature anything vs. manual. I didn't really gun it, but I can tell it's got a bunch of follow thru horses.
It was in really nice shape, had very comfortable leather seats w/electronic adjusters, and the triptonic with the gear shifters on the steering wheel was cool too (although I might not use that so much, but who knows).

Off to the mechanic tomorrow to give it the thorough inspection. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I'm not much into moding a car. I'll just do the necessary repairs, maint. and tweaks/.

Too busy with an awesome 17 month old son! He's a real rough and tumble guy.
Just did his first pull up actually... Yikes!
