Hey all,

Great forum you guys got going here. New user from Canada, thinking of getting an A4 2.8 Quattro. She has 90 000km and is in good shape. Owner always maintained at dealership. I didn't drive it yet, will do tomorrow... Is there anything that I should look out for in this car? Any recalls? How does she handle? How about performance? Any mods can be done? Any information would help me alot. I currently drive a Bmw 318ti, its a fun little car but I'm looking for something more.

Things to look for:

-Control arms arent squeeky
-Timing belt/water pump/idlers/pullies/acc belt has been changed. (this will cost you 1000 bucks at the dealer, and HAS to be changed around 70k miles)

The biggest horsepower gain is proabably the supercharger. It's a bit pricey. The 1.8t is easier to modify, but I'd be more concerned about the Quattro. By that I mean I'd be more than happy with either engine as long as the car was Quattro. Once you drive a Q, you'll never go back. At least in my opinion. Let us know how the test drive goes.

Where in Canada? The Q is awesome in Canadian snow. Never got stuck with mine or the 4000s that came before.
