Just purchased an Audi A4 2006 that had started displaying some concerning issues. At times when first started it struggles to get into gear sometimes will have to push and try to avoid parking on even slight inclines. Also when driving it will suddenly redline and I’ll have to pull over and turn the car off then start it again, pretty dangerous on busy highways. The car will also stall at times when slowing down to stop. I did take it to the mechanics who suggested a speed sensor replacement or repair is needed depending on the models transmission with the price rannging from $1500-$5000 with it potentially needing to be shipped overseas for three weeks.
Opinions or advice? Could the person I purchased the car off obtain a valid safety certificate or have I been jipped?
