Default A4 acceleration hesitates

Hi, So I noticed the other day while accelerating at an average pace ,not to slow and not to fast, that at about 40 mph the car kinda hesitated to accelerate. I pushed the gas a little harder and then it finally kicked up and started speeding up again. This has happened a couple times. Every time it is around the same speed ,close to 40 mph. I either have to give it a little more gas than normal or let off and then hit it again. What could be causing this? Could it possibly be that I just need new spark plugs. Also it only does this some times not always, and only when accelrating at a normal speed. Thanx By the way the car is a 98 audi A4 2.8 quattro.

Im new to the forum and my a4 had recently done the same thing at bothe 30-40 mph and also at 70-80 mph. At the same time of the hesitation comes a quiet vibrating noise from the dashboard. Does your car also make any sounds while hesitating?

bad turbo blown head gasket...... could be several issues OR automatic trans arent as jumpy as manuals when you pop on the gas.

First go to autozone and see if there are any codes stored that didn't trip a CEL. Post them back here.

When is the last time you changed your spark plugs or air filters?

I just purchased the car about 2 months back, so I am not sure when they were changed last. I plan on replacing them all this coming weekend though.

My car hesitates slightly when accelerating from about 25-40 if its slightly cold and i do notice a vibration noise coming from eathier the dash or from under the hood when it reaches about 3000 or so RPM. Its not that big of a deal and the hesitation usually goes away once its all warmed up and everything but the vibration pisses me off
